Rosebery Highlights

Sunset Serenade Concert
The Lobby was filled with a wonderful showcase of talent, featuring Year 11 GCSE students performing their music pieces as part of their GCSE exam recordings. The event brought together students from KS4 and KS5, who gathered to support their peers and enjoy an evening of live music. The event highlighted the hard work and dedication of the Year 11 students; a HUGE well done to Kafuka, Justina, and Yina for taking part and performing.
Pub Quiz at the Rosebery and Crown!
Rosebery hosted a Pub Quiz that brought together the girls for an evening filled with laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition. The event featured several engaging rounds, including general knowledge, song guessing, and a creative challenge where teams crafted statues in the style of Alberto Giacometti.
All the girls showcased their diverse talents and knowledge, fostering a lively atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the concentrated looks among the teams, each striving for the top spot.
After a thrilling series of rounds, my team emerged victorious, claiming first place! We celebrated our win with cheers and a sweet reward (the winners received chocolate!), making the night even more memorable.
Sunday at MyTown Mall
Baking
By Jolyne: This Sunday, I went to Mytown mall with the Rosebery boarders. We went there not only for shopping, but also for baking! I love baking so I was excited!
I was in the group for making Japanese Cheesecake because I like Japanese food. The staff prepared the ingredients for us. First, we need to soften the cream cheese & butter in a pan that was filled with boiling water, then mix them together until it’s nice and smooth. Then, we added sugar & continued to stir until it’s well blended. We added 4 eggs & flour and mixed them before pouring in the milk & a little bit of lemon juice to enhance the flavor.
We finally poured the batter into a greased cake pan with our names and use butter to smooth the surface before placing the pan in an oven & wait for 15 minutes. The cake is done when it turns a light golden color on the surface and is set in the center. We let it cool in the pan for a while before removing it to cool completely on a wire rack. I took a small bite and I realized that the cake I made was really delicious! However, it was a bit too sweet because I accidentally added an extra packet of sugar. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed baking and I’m looking forward to the next time I get to do this again!
Tufting
By Lisa: Today, my friends and I went on a Rosebery trip to Goodtimes Mytown for a tufting session. It was a brand-new experience for most of us, including myself, so we didn’t know what to expect. When we arrived, I was intimidated by the sight of the massive tufting guns. At first glance, it was difficult to control, however, the friendly staff were there throughout the session, demonstrating techniques and offering guidance. For my project, I decided to tuft My Melody, one of my favorite Hello Kitty character. I chose her because she’s adorable, pink, and fits perfectly with my bedroom’s aesthetic. The design was quite detailed and challenging at first, but once I got into the rhythm, it became incredibly satisfying to see my design take shape.
After nearly three hours of tufting, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment bringing home something I created with my own hands. The trip was absolutely worthwhile—not only did I pick up new skills, but I also shared plenty of laughs with my beloved friends. It was a memorable experience, and I’m already looking forward to trying tufting again in the future!
Meet our Student Sport Leaders
Mei – Rosebery Sports Leader
House sport fosters a sense of community, teamwork, and house spirit, mixing age groups and skill levels promotes empathy and friendships. Through friendly competition, students develop resilience, learn to handle both wins and losses. House sport also promotes healthy habits, boosts mental well-being, and provides a welcome break from academics. I would like to spread my love of sport and encourage all the Rosebuds to develop a love of competition and activity.
