Mental Health Awareness: A Week of Wellbeing at Epsom College
Epsom College is proud to celebrate Mental Health Week (MHW) from 7th to 11th October, offering a range of activities and discussions aimed at promoting emotional well-being among students. Throughout the week, KS5 students will participate in focused sessions during tutor time, with additional support groups available during CCA hours. Here’s a breakdown of the week’s schedule:
7th October: The week kicks off with an assembly introducing the themes and importance of Mental Health Week.
8th October: Tutor sessions will explore Stress, Anxiety, and Academic Pressure. Students are encouraged to engage in open discussions. An Anxiety Support Group will be available during CCA time for those seeking further guidance.
9th October: The focus shifts to Coping Strategies and Help-Seeking Behaviour during tutor time, followed by an Addiction Support Group during CCA time.
10th October: Discussions will centre around Self-Esteem, Body Image, and Emotional Wellbeing during tutor time. An afternoon Self-Esteem Support Group will be available during CCA time.
11th October: Mental Health Week will close with a PSHE session on Resilience, featuring a sharing session to reflect on the week’s lessons.
Throughout the week, dedicated resources and presentations will guide students and tutors through these important discussions. The activities are designed not only to raise awareness but also to provide practical support and coping strategies for everyday challenges.
For any additional information or questions, students and staff can reach out to Ms. Pajan, the coordinator for this important initiative.
