Top Priorities for the Term

Teaching and Learning
We will continue refining teaching and learning strategies by building on proven best practices. By sharing effective classroom techniques, we aim to further enhance pedagogy, ensuring students benefit from engaging, well-paced lessons that promote consistent progress in every session.

Academic Achievement
We will leverage student assessment data to identify and address learning gaps, implementing targeted interventions for underperforming students. Simultaneously, we will challenge high-achieving students by creating opportunities to stretch their abilities and maximise their potential.

Student Well-Being and Pastoral Care
Building on recent mental health initiatives, we will continue our mentoring program that pairs senior students with younger peers to encourage guidance and support. Additionally, Wellbeing Wednesdays will continue to enhance the overall well-being of the school community. House competitions and community-building activities will strengthen the sense of belonging across the school.

Strategic Growth and Quality Assurance
A mid-year review of the Professional Development Plan will ensure it aligns with teaching, learning, and operational goals. Quality assurance measures, including lesson observations, book scrutiny, and student surveys, will assess our teaching and learning standards. Planning for Term 3 will focus on end-of-year assessments and key student transition points.

Teacher Development
Professional development sessions on “Maximising the Opportunity to Learn” will continue, while a newly established AI Working Party will explore the integration of emerging technologies into teaching practices.

Cultural Integration and Global Awareness
We will celebrate the school’s cultural diversity through events like Cultural Day with workshops offered by different nationalities of students supported by the Friends of Epsom. Students will enhance their global awareness by participating in activities such as Model United Nations (MUN), debate clubs, guest speaker sessions, and The World Scholar’s Cup.

Co-Curricular and Sports Development
Our extensive co-curricular program will continue to cater to a wide range of student interests and talents. Sports teams will benefit from enhanced coaching, tournaments, and inter-school competitions to further develop their skills and teamwork.

Parental Engagement
We will strengthen communication with parents by providing regular academic updates, hosting community events, and sharing progress reports. Workshops for parents will continue to support student learning.
