EAL End of Term Celebration

Here at Epsom, our EAL learners truly thrive. Our classrooms are welcoming spaces where students feel confident, supported and excited to grow. During EAL lessons, they explore stories through Epic Books, discovering new vocabulary and ideas in a rich digital library. They sing English songs together, building language skills through rhythm, movement and fun, and even enjoy dancing with their teachers, creating a joyful and creative learning environment. Alongside these activities, our students take steady steps towards mastering English grammar, learning rules and patterns gradually and building a strong foundation at a pace that suits them.

Students also practised public speaking, presentation skills and vocabulary through simulated news broadcasts, strengthening their confidence while having fun. With a rich blend of reading, writing, discussion and plenty of spelling practice, they cooked up “delicious” English learning experiences and were celebrated for reading excellence, effort, vocabulary gains and outstanding exercise books. They didn’t just read stories, they created their own; from character design to dialogue writing, these projects sparked imagination and deepened literacy skills. Learners further developed their descriptive writing through character studies, comparatives and superlatives, and structured grammar exercises, supported by creative tasks such as Phantom of the Opera posters and WANTED character designs that encouraged exploration of literary themes and vocabulary. Through dynamic and energetic lessons, students strengthened their communicative abilities while staying active and engaged.

We came together to celebrate the dedication, determination and resilience of our EAL students, their progress, their achievements and the effort they put into learning every single day. Most importantly, we celebrate the vibrant community they help to create, one where every learner has a voice, every milestone matters and every success is worth cheering for.
