A New Chapter for Epsom: Tokyo Campus Set to Open in Autumn 2027

Epsom College has announced the opening of its newest international campus, Epsom College Tokyo, which is set to welcome its first students in Autumn 2027. Located in the heart of Tokyo, this milestone marks an exciting expansion of Epsom’s 170-year legacy of British education.

The launch event celebrated the proud legacy and heritage of the Epsom schools, from the original in the United Kingdom, to Malaysia, and now continuing in Japan.

Held on 5 November 2025, the press conference officially introduced Epsom College Tokyo, marking the beginning of Epsom’s presence in Japan. The new school will offer a British-style education for children aged 3 to 11 (Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 6), providing a strong foundation leading to IGCSE and A-Level pathways.

Designed collaboratively by the UK’s renowned PLP Architecture, Epsom College Tokyo combines modern design with sustainable innovation, created especially with young learners in mind. The facilities are shaped to nurture curiosity and creativity, featuring child-friendly spaces, all within a three-minute walk from Tokyo Station.

At the press conference, Epsom’s shared values of Kindness, Integrity, and Ambition were at the heart of the event. Distinguished guests included Julia Longbottom CMG, British Ambassador to Japan and a proud parent of Old Epsomians, alongside congratulatory remarks from the Governor of Tokyo, who commended the initiative as a significant contribution to Tokyo’s international education landscape.

The establishment of Epsom College Tokyo reflects Epsom’s continued commitment to nurturing academic excellence, kindness, and integrity across borders. As the Epsom family of schools grows, so too does its commitment to inspire the next generation of confident, compassionate, and globally minded leaders.
