A Purposeful Start to Term 2: Academic Excellence and Community Spirit

Happy New Year, and welcome back to the start of Term 2. I hope you and your families enjoyed a restful and refreshing break.

As we begin the new term, we do so with renewed energy and a shared commitment to learning, growth, and wellbeing. Term 2 is an important and purposeful period in the academic year, as students build on the strong foundations established in Term 1 and continue to deepen their understanding across all areas of the curriculum. We encourage our students to approach the weeks ahead with curiosity, resilience, and a positive mindset.

As students settle into Term 2, I would like to remind everyone that parents, students, teachers, and the school work together as a team to optimise opportunities for all students. Alongside high expectations for learning, we remain firmly committed to nurturing wellbeing, character, and a strong sense of belonging within our school community.

I am also very pleased to share a significant academic milestone for the school. We have received confirmation of two successful offers from the University of Oxford, a first for Epsom College Malaysia. We warmly congratulate Ethan W., who has received an offer to study Mathematics, and Eva Y., who has received an offer to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE).

This outstanding achievement reflects not only the exceptional dedication and talent of these students, but also the strength of the academic and university guidance support at the school. It is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through high aspirations, sustained effort, and a culture that encourages students to aim for the very best universities in the world.

We are also delighted to highlight the Senior School production of Mamma Mia!, which will take place on 29th January at 7.00pm. We very much hope to see many of our parents there to support our talented students and to enjoy what promises to be a wonderful evening of music and performance. As part of this event, we will be holding a raffle with a very special prize: an overnight stay for two at The RuMa Hotel, including breakfast. Further details about the raffle and how to take part will be shared shortly.

We look forward to a great half term ahead.
