Queensland University of Technology Workshop

Our Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students were recently given the opportunity to take part in a workshop run by Queensland University of Technology, where they were introduced to different areas of design and some of the university pathways open to them in the future. The session highlighted how design thinking goes beyond simply making or designing objects. It can also involve leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and shaping systems and processes.

Students then took part in a design thinking activity, working in small groups to develop creative responses to a set challenge. They threw themselves into the task, bouncing ideas off one another and presenting their outcomes at the end. It was fantastic to see how well they collaborated and the variety of ideas that emerged.

The workshop was a valuable chance for our students to see how design skills can open doors at university and in future careers.
