Embracing Diversity and Inclusion

At Epsom College in Malaysia, diversity and inclusion are integral to the holistic education we provide, where we nurture every aspect of a child’s development. Epsom students represent over 30 nationalities, our community is a vibrant reflection of the global world we live in, and our school is an inclusive one where all students feel valued and supported. Indeed this was an aspect of Epsom that was highly commended by COBIS as part of their accreditation visit. Epsom’s commitment to diversity and inclusion enriches students’ academic journey and empowers them to become empathetic and confident global citizens, ready to make a positive impact in adulthood.

At Epsom, we celebrate the richness of our community, encouraging students to embrace their cultural backgrounds. This may be via the taught curriculum, social or extracurricular events such as our upcoming Diwali celebrations or Epsom International Week. This inclusive ethos fosters a strong sense of belonging at our school, ensuring that each student is respected and valued. Our commitment to diversity not only enhances the well-being of our students but also cultivates the empathy and cultural awareness essential for High-Performance Learning.

Through a wide range of co-curricular activities, including international experiences and service, Epsom helps students develop cultural competence. By engaging with different perspectives, students learn to think critically about global issues and their roles in a connected world thus preparing them to succeed in diverse environments.

We encourage our students to take on diverse leadership roles. Whether through the House system, prefect teams, or student council, these opportunities empower students from all backgrounds to lead with empathy and integrity, skills that will equip them for academic success and beyond.
